Oh no, Chase has decided to join the likes of other issuers to remove Priority Pass restaurant access.
As first reported by Danny the Deals Guru, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® will lose Priority Pass restaurant access from July.
One of the main selling points of the Chase Sapphire Reserve was Priority Pass restaurant access, as very few other cards have this benefit. This perk will also be removed from the J.P. Morgan Reserve and the Ritz-Carlton Card.

Chase provided TPG with the following statement:
Beginning July 1, 2024, Chase Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve and The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card cardmembers will no longer have access to restaurants, cafes and markets participating in Priority Pass Select™. Access to Priority Pass Select’s network of lounges and other select airport experiences is not impacted by this update.
American Express removed this benefit in 2019, and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card removed this perk at the start of 2023.
Priority Pass restaurants are a select group of over 35 restaurants in various airports across the U.S. — and more abroad — that allow you to eat there and receive a credit for your meal if you have a Priority Pass membership. You usually receive up to $28 per person, not including tips, to dine at these restaurants. Many are in airports that don’t have a traditional Priority Pass lounge, such as Portland International Airport (PDX).
With Chase’s removal of the restaurant access through Priority Pass on the Sapphire Reserve, JP Morgan and Ritz-Carlton cards, here is the dwindling list of cards that still offer this benefit:

- Capital One Venture X Business
- Citi Prestige® Card*
- UBS Visa Infinite Card*

Chase pulling the plug on Priority Pass restaurant access on the Chase Sapphire Reserve is disappointing as the number of cards with this benefit has significantly dwindled.
TPG managing editor of credit cards Matt Moffitt has Priority Pass access through three popular premium travel rewards cards — the Sapphire Reserve, the Venture X and The Platinum Card® from American Express. The reason he valued the membership that comes with his Sapphire Reserve over the others is because it’s the only one that includes restaurant access — now that will change.
While Sapphire Reserve cardholders will still be able to access Priority Pass “experiences” such as Be Relax spas, losing access to restaurants is a shame. We hope Chase will add something to compensate for the loss of this valuable benefit.
