Sample flights

This deal lets you fly to a wide swath of European cities from airports all over the U.S. Most of the premium economy fares in this deal hover in the $1,000s, but there are quite a few that fall in the $600 to $800 range.

Here are some of the cheapest SAS flights to Europe we’ve flagged:

  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Copenhagen Airport (CPH), starting at $653.
  • Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN), starting at $653 (includes a layover).
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Aarhaus Airport (AAR) in Denmark, starting at $670 (includes a layover).
  • EWR to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), starting at $694 (includes a layover).
  • Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Zurich Airport (ZRH), starting at $702 (includes a layover).
  • BOS to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), starting at $703 (includes a layover).
  • Miami International Airport (MIA) to Helsinki Airport (HEL), starting at $742 (includes a layover).
  • ORD to Oslo Airport (OSL), starting at $743 (includes a layover).
  • MIA to CPH, starting at $753.

We recommend using Google Flights to determine your availability. Then, book your tickets directly through the airline’s website. If your flight faces a delay, cancellation or booking change, direct airline reservations tend to be far more reliable than those from third-party booking sites.

For many of these SAS flights, prices on Google Flights are lower than whatever is advertised on SAS’ website. For example, Google Flights shows the fare for a Nov. 21 to Nov. 28 flight to Zurich as $667 because there are many third-party booking options available. The price on SAS’s website for such a trip is $702.

The flight to Zurich departs Chicago at 10:05 p.m. and has a layover in Copenhagen. The returning flight to Chicago leaves Zurich at 10:20 a.m. and also has a layover in Copenhagen.

The airline’s ‘Plus’ premium economy option offers more legroom, a three-course meal and in-flight Wi-Fi, among many other perks. SAS Plus also gives passengers access to the airline’s airport lounge and priority boarding.

None of the available seats on the four flights to and from Zurich had a price tag attached to them, so you could select a seat without paying extra under SAS’ premium economy class.

You also have the option to add more baggage for $85. Keep in mind, though, that the Plus fare already allows one checked bag and one carry-on.

Bottom line

This SAS deal offers a lot of flexibility, and you can fly to a variety of popular European destinations, including nearly all of Scandinavia. Some of the premium economy fares from the U.S. can hover around $1,000, but large cities like Los Angeles and Chicago tend to offer the cheapest premium economy fares.
