Let’s look at this offer on the Alaska Airlines Business card and why it’s so valuable.
Current welcome offer on the Alaska Airlines Business card
New applicants for the Alaska Airlines Visa Business card can earn 50,000 bonus Alaska Airlines miles and Alaska’s Famous Companion Fare from $122 ($99 fare plus taxes and fees from $23). To qualify, make $3,000 or more in purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.
TPG values Alaska miles at 1.4 cents each, making this bonus worth a solid $700.
You can get even more value out of it, though, if you redeem these miles for flights on one of Alaska’s partner airlines, such as Cathay Pacific. A one-way, business-class award from the U.S. mainland or Alaska to Asia can include a free stopover in Hong Kong, and pricing starts at 50,000 Alaska miles.

These tickets often sell for several thousand dollars.
However, do note that Mileage Plan has devalued the program — without notice. So, getting the maximum value out of the miles earned with this sign-up bonus may be harder now.
Benefits of the Alaska Airlines Business card
The Alaska Airlines Business card has a $95 annual fee ($70 for the company and $25 for the first card). You’ll pay $25 for each additional card on the account.

Cardmembers earn 3 miles per dollar spent on eligible Alaska purchases. You’ll earn 2 miles per dollar on gas, local transit (including ride-hailing apps), EV charging stations, and shipping, and 1 mile per dollar everywhere else.
You also can receive 10% bonus miles on all purchases through a relationship bonus, available to those with eligible Bank of America small-business accounts.
Additionally, there are no foreign transaction fees, and miles never expire on active accounts.

Cardholders and up to six companions traveling on the same reservation will enjoy a free checked bag on Alaska Airlines flights (when using this card to pay for the ticket) and discounts on Alaska Airlines Lounge+ memberships. Additionally, cardholders enjoy priority boarding on Alaska Airlines flights when using this card to pay for the ticket.
Cardholders also get an Alaska companion certificate from $122 ($99 fare plus taxes and fees from $23) after spending $6,000 or more on purchases within your anniversary year (in addition to the companion fare as part of the welcome offer). The companion certificate allows you to bring a friend or family member on a round-trip, Alaska-operated flight in economy class, which can be a great strategy to get two people to Hawaii or to save money on expensive flights.

Cardholders also get 20% back on Alaska Airlines inflight purchases when paying with their new card.
As Alaska Airlines is a Oneworld alliance member, you’ll also have access to booking awards with these airlines and Alaska’s other non-alliance partners. You can view those award charts by clicking here, but remember the program has undergone several devaluations.
Another perk is that Alaska Airlines flights have no blackout dates when using miles or a companion fare.
