In 2023, Hyatt announced a new addition to its steadily growing portfolio, Hyatt Studios. This hotel brand is the company’s first “upper-midscale” collection of hotels that hopes to target extended-stay travelers.
Hyatt Studios hotels will offer suites with kitchen amenities, complimentary grab-and-go breakfast and a 24-hour market with a range of options for guests.
Now, World of Hyatt members can reserve a stay at the first Hyatt Studios property, located in Mobile, Alabama, which is scheduled to open July 1, 2025. Additionally, Hyatt announced that Hyatt Studios hotels will participate in the Brand Explorer Award, and eligible stays will earn World of Hyatt points as well as qualifying nights. Hyatt adds Hyatt Studios to its Brand Explorer Award program
If you’re a World of Hyatt member and frequently stay at different properties within the hotel’s portfolio, you could potentially earn a Brand Explorer Award. After staying at five different brands under Hyatt’s umbrella, members can earn a Category 1-4 free night award. Plus, there is no timeline on when you have to complete five qualifying stays, so members can take their time working toward this free night award.
In addition to potentially earning a free night award through the Brand Explorer Award program, stays at Hyatt Studios properties will also earn members one tier-qualifying night credit for each eligible night.

Hyatt members will earn points for Hyatt Studios hotel stays
Though members will earn Hyatt base points for every eligible dollar spent on Hyatt Studios stays, it’s half of what members usually earn when staying at Hyatt properties. Hyatt members will earn 2.5 base points per $1 at Hyatt Studios hotels (members typically earn 5 points per $1).
However, World of Hyatt cobranded cardholders will earn 2.5 base points and 4 bonus points per $1 when using their World of Hyatt Credit Card or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.
