Airline loyalty program promotions (September 2024)

Airline loyalty programs can offer trip discounts on certain dates, the chance to earn more miles for future travel and deals to rack up points toward elite status. Below are some of the offers we found for September.

Bonus Lufthansa miles on premium cabins

Like many airlines at this time of year, Lufthansa Miles & More is running a promotion to help you get closer to your next status tier.

Earn an additional 50 points, qualifying points and HON Circle points per flight segment on select Austrian, Lufthansa and Swiss long-haul routes in business and first class. This applies to all eligible flights taken through Dec. 31, 2024, including those already completed.
No registration is required for this promotion; just enter your Miles & More number in the usual way at the time of booking.
Eligible destinations include Los Angeles on Austrian and San Francisco on Lufthansa and Swiss, as well as various locations in Asia and South America.

Hotel loyalty program promotions (September 2024)

Hotel loyalty programs occasionally offer discounted stays, ways to earn extra points and deals at various properties. We collected some of this month’s best deals below.

Save up to 40% at Asia-Pacific Wyndham hotels

Wyndham Rewards is encouraging members to try out its newest hotels in the Asia-Pacific region with a flash sale. Book one of the participating hotels this fall, and you’ll receive bonus points and a discount on your paid stay.

Earn an extra 3,500 Wyndham Rewards points when you stay at participating hotels and resorts by Wyndham that have opened in the last 12 months across all Wyndham brands in the Asia-Pacific region. You can use this offer twice, for a maximum of 7,000 bonus points.
Plus, you’ll get a discount depending on how long you stay. Stay for one night and get 15% off, two nights for 22% off, three nights for 30% off and four or more nights for 40% off the best available rate (up to a maximum of five nights).
Book by Sept. 16 and complete your stay(s) by Dec. 4, 2024.

Earn unlimited bonus points at IHG

IHG One Rewards members can earn 3,000 bonus points for every two nights they stay this fall — with no earning cap. Since points are earned by the number of nights, not the number of stays, you could potentially rack up a lot of points with this promotion.

Earn 3,000 bonus points for every two nights you stay at participating IHG properties.
Only paid stays are eligible; stays booked with points or a combination of points and cash will not earn bonus points.
Register here first, then complete your stay(s) between Sept. 19 and Dec. 31, 2024.

Card issuers sometimes offer deals and discounts for certain cardholders on everything from airfare to restaurant dining. Here are some of the offers we’ve rounded up this week.

Targeted Chase Offer at W Hotels

Sometimes Chase’s cash-back cards have the best travel deals. We found this one on the Chase Freedom Unlimited®:

Earn a $50 statement credit on your W Hotel stay when you spend $250 or more.
As with all Chase Offers, you must add the offer to your card and make the payment with your enrolled card. Payment must be made directly with the merchant (as opposed to an online travel agency or Chase Travel℠, for instance) in a single transaction.
This offer expires Sept. 22, 2024.

Targeted Chase Offer at Marriott’s Autograph Collection

Chase Offers at various Marriott brands continue, giving you plenty of options to save on a fall getaway.

Earn 10% cash back on your Autograph Collection Hotels stay when you spend $100 or more, with a $62 cash-back maximum.
As with all Chase Offers, you must add the offer to your card and make the payment with your enrolled card. Payment must be made directly with the merchant in a single transaction to earn cash back.
This offer ends Oct. 21, 2024.

Targeted Amex Offer at The Leading Hotels of the World

We found a targeted offer on The Platinum Card® from American Express to earn 15,000 Membership Rewards points when you spend a minimum of $700 on room rate and room charges at participating The Leading Hotels of the World properties.

Earn 15,000 Membership Rewards points after using your eligible card on a room rate and/or room charges at participating properties through Dec. 8, 2024 (offer available one time only).

Some IHG One Rewards members are being targeted for a promotion to earn 12,000 bonus points by staying twice in 60 days. There is no minimum night requirement as long as you spend $30 each stay. See if you’re eligible and register for the promotion here.
Earn double Wyndham Rewards points at these new hotels. You don’t need to register for this promotion, and there is no published end date.
This 2024-2025 football season, Washington state residents can earn 1 Delta SkyMile for every yard the Seattle Seahawks pass for thanks to Delta’s 12Status promotion. You’ll also get priority (Group 5) boarding on departure flights at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) from Sept. 8, 2024, to the end of the Seahawks’ 2024-2025 season and a 12% discount at Seahawks Pro Shop retail stores on the 12th of each Seahawks in-season month. If you hold elite status with Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines or United Airlines, you can earn comparable JetBlue Mosaic status for three months with the airline’s Match to Mosaic offer. Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite members and above can earn double elite night credits on every qualifying stay at vacation rentals in the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy collection.
