Sample flights
Colorado residents can fly from Denver to Maui for just $341 round trip. (The following flights were priced as listed at the time of publication. We cannot guarantee these round-trip flights will be available when you book.)
To find this deal, head to Southwest’s website and browse its low-fare calendar. You’ll notice that one of the cheapest trip options is from Sept. 4 to Sept. 14.
These tickets are for the airline’s Wanna Get Away fare, which includes two checked bags (perfect for this 10-day itinerary) and no change fees. Know, though, that there is a layover in each direction.
Alaska is also offering deals to Hawaii today but only from Los Angeles. Nonstop flights in September start at $119 each way.
These tickets are for Alaska’s Saver fare, which allows one carry-on bag but does not include seat selection. You’ll only earn a 50% credit if you cancel this fare up to 13 days before departure, unlike Southwest’s option, which lets basic fare passengers receive full credit as long as they cancel 10 minutes before departure.
Maximize your purchase
If you have a Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card, you can earn 3 Rapid Rewards points on Southwest purchases. Use the Alaska Airlines Visa® credit card and you’ll earn 3 Mileage Plan miles for every dollar spent on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases.
You can also use a general travel credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, such as:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred Card: 2 points per dollar spent on travel.
- American Express® Gold Card: 3 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly through the airline or American Express Travel.
- The Platinum Card® from American Express: 5 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly through the airline or American Express Travel (on up to $500,000 of these purchases per calendar year).

If you want to experience the Aloha State, don’t waste any time. Book as soon as you can.
